FAQ About Licensing Issues
The license key email sent to you includes your Customer Number twice. (If you were not the recipient of the license key email, refer to the subsequent sections of this document or ask the person who did receive this, sometimes called the Ansys Support Coordinator).
1. Software not picking up the license?
Check if the license manager is running or not. If the manager is running and still software is not picking up the license then stop the license and start again. Check the software again.
2. Software running on server machine but not on client machine?
Check if the client is getting the ping from the server. Type the following command in CMD on the client [ping (IPV4 address of server) ex: – ping 192.5.61.123]. If there is no ping from the server then go to network settings click on properties on server and change the network to private (if it is not) do this for client as well. Then go to windows firewall on server and open advance firewall settings. In private tab allow all inbound connections. [Note:- The flow might differ on Windows 10 machines but the process remains the same]
3. Changing the server on client machine?
Open Ansys Licensing Settings from the Start Menu as an Administrator. Change the server name and click on Test. If everything is OK you will see a green tick mark beside Test Button. {Make sure you have addressed the question number 2}
4. SpaceClaim not picking the license?
Select the alternate license option in SpaceClaim Options. [Follow the same steps if Ansys Meshing is not uploading the geometry]
5. Explore feature missing in Discovery Simulation?
Check if the OS and GPU drivers are updated or not.
6. Process to revert on a query?
