Support: Retrieving Your Customer Number

All Customers (Ansys, Ansoft, Apache and Fluent)

The license key email sent to you includes your Customer Number twice. (If you were not the recipient of the license key email, refer to the subsequent sections of this document or ask the person who did receive this, sometimes called the Ansys Support Coordinator).

All Customers (Ansys, Ansoft, Apache and Fluent)

  1. The Customer Number is displayed near the top of the license key email. A typical Customer Number is illustrated below.
  2. The Customer Number is included within the license key file attached to the license key email. The Customer Number is part of the VENDOR_STRING value on any INCREMENT line within the file.

Customers using the Ansys License Manager

Customers with Ansys products can also find their Customer Number by using the ANSYSLI_UTIL Utility on a Client machine (i.e. a machine which will run the software) The approach is slightly different depending on whether you are running Windows or Linux

Note: To retrieve your Customer Number a valid Ansys license must be available.

A. Windows machines:
i. Open a MS-DOS Command Prompt (in Windows Search bar, just type ‘cmd’ and Enter)
ii. Execute this command line: “[PATH_ANSYS]\Shared Files\Licensing\winx64\ansysli_util.exe” -printavail
By default “[PATH_ANSYS]” will be “C:\Program Files\ANSYS Inc”

B. Linux machines:  
i. Open a Linux terminal
Execute this command line: “/xxxxx/ansys_inc/shared_files/licensing  /linx64/ansysli_util -printavail”
When you execute the command line, you will see something like this:
